Laminated Glass

Today, with the advantages and functions it offers, laminated glass became one of the most accepted and demanded marine glazing option. Laminated glass provides security, reduction of solar heat gain, UV radiation and sound while presenting numerous colour options.

It is manufactured by permanently bonding two or more lites of glass with layers of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer, under heat and pressure, to create a single construction with excellent adhesion, elasticity, transparency and resistance.

  • Passive security:
In the case of accidental breakage, the interlayer supports the fragments of glass, minimizing the risk of fallout or injury from glass shards.
  • Active security:
Laminated glass offers excellent forced entry resistance.
  • Sound control:
Laminated glass effectively reduces sounds because the interlayer used in its production damps sound wave vibrations.
  • Solar control:
Laminated glass blocks over 99% of UV rays while reducing the transmittance of solar energy.

Acoustic Insulation

For the highest comfort and concentration, Acoustic insulation is necessary for some areas of the boats like wheelhouses or luxury yachts. BCE Marine Acoustic Insulated Glass can reduce sound by % 28 more than ordinary laminated glass in same thickness.

Solar Protection, Aesthetics and Privacy

BCE Marine Windows can be obtained with Solar Protection with more Aesthetics and Privacy. Dark Tinted Glass or Interlayers (with colour options) to absorb the solar energy to prevent heat build up and for confidentiality, BCE's NanoKool® special UV films to filter UV rays and IR radiation, Reflective Glass to reflect sunlight and constitute privacy with transparent metallic coatings, Edge Shading with black border and dot matrix with ceramic paints for aesthetics and prevent sun light transmission from the edges, All-Clear Windows to increase the view with colorless glass, are some of the options that BCE Glass supply to increase comfort.

Fritted Glass

Fritted glass is tempered or curved glass with a ceramic based paint permanently bonded onto the glass during the tempering or bending process. This edge ceramic 'frit' prevents UV rays from penetrating the glass and is commonly used to prevent degrading the bonding sealant..
